COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) POLICY
The company is committed to protecting its employees, subcontractors, suppliers and customers during the uncertain times we are experiencing in the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.
Across the business operational measures will be taken to both prevent and reduce any risk of potential contamination and spread of the virus. Covid 19 risk assessments have been undertaken by the business to establish the necessary controls requiring implementation on each of the company’s sites. Any person entering company premises will be made aware of the arrangements and are required to comply with them. Across all company sites the following measures apply;
1. SELF-ISOLATION & SYMPTOMS
Any person displaying any of the symptoms as advised by the NHS such as a new and continuous cough, a high temperature or your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia) or have tested positive for COVID-19 must stay at home for;
7 days, if you live alone, from when the symptoms started.
14 days if you live with others including household members from when the first person in the household’s symptoms started.
Any persons from defined vulnerable groups are strongly advised to stay at home.
Any person returning to work following isolation must confirm that they are symptom free and have followed the latest UK Government advice around self-isolation.
Employees have been advised to ensure the company is aware of any underlying or relevant health conditions and that their emergency contact information is current.
If any person or any member of their household has any of the symptoms above they must stay at home and arrange to have a test to see if they have COVID-19
2. DISTANCING PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
Company premises are to accept no cold callers, reps or other unnecessary site visitors unless previously authorised.
Wherever possible persons are to observe social distancing guidance at all times.
Nominated users are to operate plant & vehicles where possible to prevent multi use.
Work stations are to be allocated to individuals to prevent multi use.
Office & welfare facilities are to be managed to ensure social distancing guidance can be maintained.
Meetings and briefings are to be held while adhering to social distancing guidance, where possible meetings are to be held by media conferencing or in open areas with good ventilation.
3. CLEANLINESS MEASURES
All persons should wash hands regularly and thoroughly with warm soapy water for at least 20 seconds especially;
Before and after using toilet facilities
Before eating or handling food or after coughing or sneezing
On arrival to premises and when leaving premises
After using shared equipment or tools
All persons are to cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing with a tissue then dispose of the tissue in a bin.
All premises are to be hygienically maintained daily using cleaning products to disinfect objects and surfaces that are touched regularly.
All areas used for eating must be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each break and shift, including chairs and door handles.
The sharing of tools & equipment is to be avoided and where this is not possible tools and equipment are to be cleaned down prior to changing user and at the start and end of shifts.
Sufficient supplies of hand sanitiser, soap, cleaning materials and tissues are to be available at each premises.
Plant & vehicle cabs to be cleaned daily and before any change of operator using gloves and standard cleaning materials.
The company will regularly review its Covid 19 risk assessment and procedures in line with changing circumstances and current Government advice and guidance.
